So let's say you bought this expensive ride cymbal not too long ago and now, several shows into it, you realize the ride isn't quite what you were looking for. Maybe its too dry, too pingy, or too washy. Maybe its a great jazz cymbal but now you've switched to death metal. Whatever the case may be, you're stuck. The store won't take it back.
You can sell it online, but its tough to sell it for anywhere near what you paid for it. And even if you do sell it you're left looking for that perfect ride with a fraction of the cash you started with.
